Our Story
Guilia is our celebration of unity, creativity, and resilience. A brand born from the heart of our family, where each product tells a part of our journey and passion for what we do.
Our story began in a special way in May 2021. On Mother's Day, we decided to gift our mother, Adriana, a handmade soap kit. The motivation behind this gesture was the challenging phase we were facing due to our father's illness, and we wanted to channel our energy into something positive. It was a way to show her our love and offer her something new that could fill her days with creativity and joy. Our mother, who had always taken care of everything with such dedication, deserved a moment of renewal. And so, the first soaps were born, quickly becoming the start of a project with incredible potential.
What began as a family hobby soon grew, and we realized that our mother’s talent and dedication could be shared with more people. We created “A Saboeira Artesanal” to bring to the world not only the lovingly crafted soaps but also the artisanal candles, which soon became an essential part of our brand. Filipa took on the role of managing social media and sales channels, while our mother continued as the creative force behind every product.
At the same time, Vítor, who had always been responsible for the technical side of things, built the first website for the brand and managed all the branding, from designing the logos to shaping our online presence. Our family unity was our strength, and together, we turned a special gift into a brand with heart and purpose.
In August 2021, we had the opportunity to present our brand on national television, on SIC. This was a proud moment for all of us, and it further fueled our belief that we were on the right path.
In July 2023, the brand underwent a significant transformation and was renamed Guilia. This change marked a new chapter for us, inspired by our family's values and our vision for the future. The name Guilia is a tribute to our uncle Gerson, whose memory continues to inspire us, Filipa and Adriana, who are an integral part of this project. Together, we have built something that goes beyond just a brand – it is our way of sharing the best of what we can offer with the world.
Since 2023, we've had the pleasure of participating in street markets in Porto’s city center, where we’ve had the chance to connect directly with our customers and share our story. These moments have been incredibly special to us, allowing us to feel the energy and enthusiasm of the people as they discover our products. It’s an experience that enriches us and motivates us to continue creating with love and dedication.
In February 2024, we launched our official website, guiliastore.com, giving our customers an even more personalized and intimate experience with our brand. With Vítor once again taking care of every technical and creative detail, the website became a natural extension of who we are: a family dedicated to creating products with soul and offering something unique to everyone who follows us.
In March 2024, we took another important step by launching our personalized jewelry line. This was a special moment for us because we wanted to offer something more than just accessories – we wanted to create pieces that would immortalize important moments and memories. From names, special dates, coordinates of meaningful places, to engraved photos, every piece is unique and tells the story of those who wear it.
Today, Guilia continues to grow, always staying true to its roots. Every product – be it a soap, a candle, or personalized jewelry – is crafted with the same care and love with which we began. Our commitment is to keep creating pieces that not only beautify but also touch hearts. We are a brand that values connection, family, and the creation of special moments – and this is our story, shared with each and every customer who chooses us.
